Poetry: Expressions of love

by Barbara Adkins

Created on: April 14, 2009

You don't have a way with words

but you have a way with me.

I can feel your light, in our love

and everything you do to please.

I hear the tenderness in your voice

the gentle touch of your hand.

Expressions of love in all you do

to let me know, you're my man

So hear my words and understand

I have so much I need to say.

I know actions speak louder than words,

but words are the way I know to relate.

I love you for the person you are

and the gentleness of your soul.

I think that I would lay down and die

If I ever thought you would go.

We show our love in so many ways,

I use words and you use the chores.

I say I love you everyday,

and you fix the latch on the door.

I give you a greeting card of love,

you bring me flowers in a vase.

Expressions of love come in all kinds

and all kinds express love in their own way.
