Creative Halloween costumes for adults

Every Halloween my girlfriend Colleen and I seem to get invited to more and more parties. It probably has a lot to do our reputation for unique and creative costumes that we come up with every year. We usually start planning our costume some time in the summer. It usually takes plenty of thought and searching to find just the right parts to create the perfect costumes. For the past two years we've won 'Best Couples Costume' awards at several parties, and now we're expected to out do ourselves every year. Here is what we wore last year.

We were planning on going to several different parties, but we also had tickets for an Alice Cooper rock concert on Halloween Night at Mohegan Sun Casino. We felt a concert like this, on Halloween, deserved a great costume idea. So we decided to dress up like Axl Rose and Slash of the rock band Guns 'N Roses. My girlfriend already had the long blonde hair so she went as Axl Rose. Her costume consisted of: black combat boots, a kilt, a torn Rock ‘N Roll style t-shirt, a worn-out leather jacket, mirror sunglasses, some long necklaces, and of course a red bandana under a ball cap on the head. For my Slash costume, I needed a little help with the long black hair so I started with a wig similar to the hair style of an 80’s rocker, black combat boots, tight black leather pants, a leather belt with skull buckle, a torn t-shirt under an old jean jacket, some spiked leather bracelets, a few long necklaces, dark sunglasses, a cigarette (candy cigarette for me), and the trademark black top hat. I also carried around an actual electric guitar with me but that is optional.

Using some old pictures we mimicked Axl and Slash as best as we could, but finding just the right top hat for the Slash costume was difficult. After shopping store after store and website after website I finally found the perfect hat while shopping at the mall the day of the concert. After the concert, still in our costumes, we went to a nearby lounge and couldn't even get a drink. Everyone there wanted to talk to us, shake our hands, and have their picture taken with us. The costumes were such a huge that we felt like part of the show.  We actually felt like rock stars for the night.  The same costumes also won us ‘Best Costume’ awards at a local nightclub Halloween party.

The year before last we decided to do something a little more unique and original. We decided to do a couples costume of a UPS Delivery Man and his ‘package’.
