Anything is possible or so they'd like you to believe
Tell that to the anguished brother of a murdered man
Watch him fall to his knees imploring God
How is this possible? Tell me if you can
Anything is possible or so they tritely say
Tell that to the patient with metastatic spread
With these empty words try to ease his pain
As he lay writhing in agony on his death bed
Anything is possible or so the cliche goes
Tell that to the grieving husband of a newborn son
His wife dead from hemorrhagic shock
A widowed father left with his sorrow like a loaded gun
Anything is possible or so the metaphysics proclaim
Tell that to the bereaved woman who has lost her entire family
Killed in a car crash landing in the swirling currents of the sea
Console her with this sentiment and explain the possibility
If anything is possible then bring them back the mourners beg
No answer from the unknowable beyond - nobody is there
Their pleading cries disappearing without a trace
Into the cold, unfeeling, deadened air

Poetry: Anything is possible
When the world says you can't
And chances do seem slim
Don't listen to their chant
Their view is much too dim
When your spirit

Searching for Atlantis
The wind is in the east;
rain lashing down
and you’re on my mind again.
Rainy afternoons
were always
There's a place inside each one of us
where all outcomes are born
a fertile patch much like the earth
that turns seeds into
A student I was not
Notoriety I did not know,
Yet, I kept going!
Through weary eyes I saw
How things could be,
Inspired by love
Not
The sun rises on a new day
A day full of endless possibilities
Rain, or shine
The day is what you make it.
Anything is possible.
