A small fire may become a danger
Roaring into destructive rage
Like uncontrolled anger -
Handle with care.
A sword not in its scabbard hung
May slash deep wounds
Like an unguarded tongue -
Handle with care.
A tender, growing plant stressed
By drought will wither
Like imagination repressed -
Handle with care.
A lovely, blown-glass work of art
Is easily shattered
Like the human heart -
Handle with care.
