Like many other real-time strategy fanatics, I'm looking forward to Empire Earth III appearance. Now, after a couple of weeks of this game, I can openly say that this franchise might have to stop at the second part, and not even a third. Why? See answer below.
Empire Earth III is essentially a simplified version of the two previous paragraphs. The decision to reduce drastically the game was probably taken on the criticism that the Empire Earth II has become too complex, and the addition of new modes was unnecessary bloat. Single player mode, for you can play in the global dominance of the game (instead of the various campaigns in the past) or brush (skirmish) mode. The game also includes multiplayer component of up to eight players, although it is almost identical to a single player skirmish mode. To help players Empire Earth III, the program includes training game.
Empire Earth III graphics modeling and texture reminds Warcraft
II, simplified colors and textures to come back to decade. The only graphic elements that have been updated is the impact on the environment and the special effects of fire, smoke, snow and water. Military units animations are a little pale and continue cheap funny visual defects, for example, when you managed military units simply flow over stationary objects, rather than the way you get around them.
Empire Earth III will offer four different types of areas in which to play: arctic, dry, average and tropical. Unfortunately, you will not find any maps with the location-situ combination of types. The game maps are also feels too small and restrictive compared to Empire Earth I and II versions, with an excess of sensitive areas, you have to drive through without stopping and around.
As mentioned, and Empire Earth III no longer the traditional variety of campaigns, which have been replaced by the global dominance in a way that only simulates a pleasant way to global conquest . Even after several hours sitting in training, we could not find what can be usefully used in the main game mode. You remember all the choices of civilization and Erich, you have previusly Empire Earth version? Empire Earth III, the global domination mode, you have the choice of the three regional civilizations (the Far East, close east and west), which may be five different Erich (ancient, medieval, colonial, contemporary, and future. While you can add special abilities and upgrade your civilization, their use is extremely confusing.
