My poor house,
What awful style.
Though you used to suit me well
Your looks are now a trial.
Armed with paint
And fabric book
And a lot of careful planning
I'll renew your every nook.
Lots of work,
Costs overflow.
I'll try to choose a color scheme
That I'll not soon outgrow.
This new face
May last a while,
Then will come more restlessness,
I admit it with a smile.
Ah, dear house,
You know it's true:
When I'm satisfied with me
I'll be satisfied with you.

then rubbed stained door frames back to wood,
