about others in the world besides just our own family. Its good to make a positive difference in the world in any way that you can. I am very active in a local church too. I think its important to do your part and it doesnt hurt to have a good support group in case your own family ever falls on hard times! Pay it forward all you can

Another key part of your financial planning should include a spending protocol. My husband makes the money and I spend it, (or pay the bills). We made it a rule that we don't make any purchases over $100 without clearing it with the other spouse first. This is not the same as asking permission, it just makes you more accountable for it. You really need to be frugal to be a stay at home parent. You need to find creative ways to save and make money. Some of the things I do are to sell outgrown kids clothes on on-line auction sites, I have semi-annual yard sales, and I am also an active direct seller as well as a freelance writer. We are not rich monetarily, but we are so rich in love and spirit. Yes, we make a lot of sacrifices, we don't wear designer threads or drive fancy new cars, or go on extravagant vacations, but we do take many annual camping trips and see the state of Texas together, I never miss a school play or field trip or basketball game, and I get to be there whenever any of the ones I love need me, and for that I am so truly blessed! There is no sacrifice too great for one second of that! It is a tough job being everything to everyone ALL of the time. I wonder if thats why childbirth was so tough, to prepare me for the toughest job I would ever have, being a stay at home mom!
