The fallacy of terror free oil

Having access to adequate oil supplies without fear of terrorism is no fallacy. The term "The Fallacy of Terror Free Oil" is so subjective that it bears an operational definition in order to proceed with intelligent analysis and commentary. This writer chooses to define the concept to include the idea that we who consume oil-derived products should recognize that having access to adequate quantities of oil without the fear of terror in connection to the supply of that oil is a fallacy; or in other words if we think we can have oil without fear of terrorism, we are somehow fooling ourselves.

This premise would appear to be based upon the assumption that terrorism is in some manner fundamentally founded upon the sources and supply of oil, and by implication that it is impossible to have access to oil without a hand-in-hand correlation to terrorism. If I have interpreted this topic and assignment correctly, and if this is an accurate statement of the title premise, then I reject it entirely and completely! One can argue that one of the major reasons for the extension of World War II into the North African Theater was a direct result of who would control the supply of oil from that region. Accepting that, the supply of oil from that region was not subject to interruption through acts of terror, but through acts of war. This seems to be an exception to the "Terror" premise?

Please, Good Oil-consuming Free Citizens of the World, do not be terrified! Mankind has been threatened over time immemorial by factions that have wished to harm the common man, and we have prevailed. Christ was crucified, and still we are taught within the Christian faith and beyond that we should not live in fear as a result. To accept the irrevocable link between oil and terror is to abandon all faith in mankind; and this is something I refuse to accept!

Is it a fallacy to believe that ocean shipping can not exist without terrorism, just because a few bad actors from a failed state have made it so right now? Or do we believe that, as in the days of piracy in the 1700's and 1800's; that civilized nations will overcome those threats? As recently demonstrated by a trio of skilled U.S. Navy SEAL Snipers, we have the technology to deal with that. For diplomacy and hostage's sake, it may take a little time to work out the details, but never doubt that we shall prevail.

Christians, Muslims, the Jewish, agnostics, Bhuddists - all people have the capacity to live in harmony and peace. There will always be bad actors; but agreeing to live in fear of them and accept their unhuman acts is a premise that we must reject out-right. For every pirate or terrorist who threatens us, we have the ability to rain hellfire upon them and prevail. We free Americans reject servitude to those who threaten us - and this is why the premise of terrorist-free oil is no fallacy to us.
