"Dear Johnny Boy, It Brings No Joy"
Just so you know
Before I go
I'm writing one last poem
Of Shelley and Keats
And all of their feats...
No, really, I don't know 'em
Those two chaps
Wrote syrupy crap
That most folks cannot read
With thoughts, elliptic
And words so cryptic
Surviving as their deed
So I spurn
The Grecian Urn
And the scenes that decorate it
It brings no joy,
Dear Johnny boy...
And the truth is that I hate it!
Here's my decree
On poetry, see...
And I really do demand it!
If you write,
I'm not too bright
So make sure I understand it.

To leave you
I never wanted
