2007-08 Fantasy football draft rankings: Quarterbacks

The Quarterback position in fantasy football is key to a team because of the potential points that it can produce. This is the list that I'm using as my draft reference tool for the upcoming season.

1.Peyton Manning. Regardless of team situation or off season moves he remains the number one quarterback in the league.

2. Drew Brees. With Reggie Bush and Marques Colston both gaining experience Brees remains a top pick because of his ability to find an open receiver.

3. Michael Vick. Obviously the running ability has a lot to do with his ranking but also a new pass friendly head coach will help him out. Another big factor is what Atlanta does this off season to improve the receiving corps.

4. Mark Bulger. A consistent QB due to the fact that St. Louis has no defense and is often playing the pass to catch up.

5. Carson Palmer. The best receiver corps in the NFL will without a doubt boost stats for the great pocket passer. Look for Cinci to make moves with its offensive line in the off season to push Palmer up in the ratings

6. Tom Brady. Here for obvious reasons Brady will always remain towards the top of fantasy rankings. A first round receiver will help his rankings.

7. Vince Young. His running ability helps to create plays and Tennessee will most likely be searching for some receivers to compliment his abilities.

8. Philip Rivers. He has LT and Antonio Gates to throw to. No need for further explanation.

9. Matt Leinhart. Two of the best receivers in the game and a great running back to balance the offense keeps him in the top ten. Look for Arizona to improve their line in the off season.

10. Matt Hasselback. The center of a good Seatle offense with weapons like Alexander, Jackson, and Branch to utilize.

11. Eli Manning. Losing Tiki Barber is a huge downside to Manning's game in New York. He still has great options to throw to and he is still a Manning. Could be a comeback year.

12. Ben Roethlisberger. An injury riddled season in 2006 still showed promise at the end. Also, Santonio Holmes is coming up nicely as a great second option to throw to. Look for coaching changes to effect rankings.

13. Tony Romo. Definitely questionable with what happened in the end of 2006. Also, T.O. might be gone and that will also effect his rankings.

14. J.P. Losman. Could be a decent sleeper in the 2007 season. Look for the draft to effect rankings and see what the wide receiver situation is at the beginning of the year.

15. Jay Cutler. Gunslingers are always a risk in fantasy play but he proved himself with late game comebacks and great composure. As long as his receivers are healthy he will be good in 2007.

16. Jon Kitna. The big downside to Kitna is that he plays on the Lions. He does have Roy Williams and Mike Furrey to throw to though.

Keep an eye on Donovan McNabb. Though he missed half the season he still ended up in the top 5 as far as fantasy points goes. If he's healthy he's a must have. If he's not then Garcia is a great fill in.
