For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Believing in Jesus is the only way to be saved. If there would have been any other way, God would not have sent His Son, Jesus, to die on the cross. Jesus is the only one who can deliver us from sin and the power of sin in our lives. If we take Jesus out of the picture, then everyone would have to find their own way to be forgiven of sins. Sin is what separates us from the Father. What can anyone do to erase sin from their lives and from the world?
Everyone that believes in heaven, wants to go to heaven. God has made it possible for everyone that wants to go to heaven, to be able to go. But the majority of people, even Christians, don't want to follow God's plan. Most don't even know God's plan of salvation. So, everyday we see people going on with their own plan, trying to work themselves into heaven. They are running all over and around Jesus. Their actions show that they believe that Jesus is not the only way to salvation or to God. John 14:6 says, "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
Webster's New World Compact School and Office Dictionary says that salvation means-1. a saving or being saved 2. a person or thing that saves 3. Theol. deliverance from sin and from the penalities of sin; redemption. Religion was started by man and will end with man. Religion doesn't save anyone. It only keeps you busy trying to meet its standard. If the Israelites could have kept the laws under the Old Covenant, there would not have been any need for a New Covenant. Religion is about rules and laws to keep. So you spend all your life trying to keep the laws and rules and still end up separated from God.
Jesus was the only perfect sacrifice that God would accept, for the sin of mankind. His blood was perfect. The blood of the animals used in the Old Covenant was imperfect. The animal sacrifices didn't draw them closer to God. God had a plan. A perfect plan that would take care of sin once and for all. He sent His Son Jesus to be the sacrificial Lamb, to take away the sin of the world. Jesus' death, burial and resurrection were the price that was paid for our salvation. Our complete deliverance, spirit, soul and body.
If you are a Born Again Believer, at some point in your life, you believed Romans 10:9. You confessed with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and you believed in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead and with that confession and belief, you were saved. Jesus, the Christ, the Son of the living God, is the only way to salvation, which leads us to God and His blessing.
