The best theme park rides for young children

Amusement parks are designed for audiences of all ages, but there is special emphasis put on the part of the park that is trying to appeal to young children. Parents of young children are always a little hesitant to bring their very young children to an amusement park because they are unsure as to what rides or attractions their children would enjoy. There is no hard or fast rule to what young children like and what young children do not like, but there are some basic rules that parents can follow that will help them find things for their young children to do at the amusement park.

Young children love to people watch, and one of the things they love about amusement parks is the variety of people that are milling around at any given time. This is a great chance for you to get your child used to the amusement park, and let them be involved in an activity they enjoy doing.
All you need to do is take your kids around the amusement park and let them watch the other people for a while, not only will they enjoy watching the other people but they will start to get ideas of what they would like to do for rides and attractions.

Every amusement park has a section of rides especially designed for small children. Take your children to this part of the park and let them choose the rides they would like to try. They may be young children but they know what they think they like, and if you let them try a ride that appeals to them then they may start to warm up to the whole idea of being at an amusement park. Just be certain that the ride is appropriate for your child and that there is no danger of them getting injured while on the ride.

One of the things that parents of very young children never seem to understand about amusement parks is that the life sized cartoon characters that are roaming the park are terrifying.
Your child needs to be a bit older before they can appreciate the subtleties of a full grown adult dressed up as a popular cartoon character. The best way to ruin your very young child's visit to the amusement park is to try and introduce them to the people dressed up as cartoon characters. Avoid the characters at all costs, and just wait until the kids get older before you try and let them hug their favorite cartoon character in person.

For the most part, very young children like to roam amusement parks and check things out before they get too involved in the action. When you first get to the amusement park, just take your young children around the parts of the park designed for them and let them take it all in.
When they are ready to start getting involved, they will let you know.
