I've recently given some thought as to why women cry and men rarely do (or at least they hide it well). There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it, but it seems to be something to do with hormones, miscommunication, frustration or sadness. Or maybe it's just a PMS roller coaster ride. That usually takes the blame. Bottom line, men just are disturbed by women who cry.
I'm just wondering why men get so mystified by it. I mean, crying is just a quick way to get the mascara off....but then again, if you do enough of it (that's a called a "crying day") your eyes will look like a goldfish on crack.
Women love to cry. I have now determined that I love an occasional cry myself. I am a REAL woman. I cry. I'm proud of it. Just the other day I discussed crying with my daughter, Ashley. Good subject. I figure that we could either be talking about the latest news on Sport-Center or crying. Crying won, hands down.
I don't schedule crying. It just happens like a sneak attack. Friday I was having a "CRYING DAY" vs a "crying moment". A crying day is when just about everything brings on the tears. Sometimes it's not even sad. It usually starts when I can't find my keys or my phone in the morning. Tears start coming to smudge the fresh coat of mascara I just slapped on. Then I find my keys, usually right in my hand, and I'm done crying. For the moment. I get in the car, there's some Brian McKnight song on. It doesn't even have to relate to a moment in my life, but it sounds so....so good to cry to. So I cry and the guy at the stop light next to me sees me. He rolls his eyes, I chuck him the finger. Now I am ticked off. The crying jag is done for now and I'm onto the road rage portion of my day. However, the crying day is not over. Later that evening, I cried for no reason while at the movie Madagascar with my children. I couldn't even come up with reason for it. Then it just ended. Done. I was over it and everyone else's heads were still spinning...wondering when I'd start bawling again.
For the sake of my never ending curiosity about why women cry more than men, I Googled the subject of women crying. Seemed like a sane thing to do, right? I found the following and it seems to explain it all. Now, if you've kept up with my blog, you'll know that I'm not deeply religious but this does mention God. This doesn't mean I've become a Holy Roller...I just like this explanation:
A little boy asked his mother, "Why are you crying?"
"Because I'm a woman," she told him.
"I don't
