If I Could
If I could paint love
My brush would be filled
With the colours of sunset
Gold and crimson, pink and violet
Brushed against a darkening blue sky
If I could paint love
I would use all the shades
Of the forest in autumn
Brown and russet, green, yellow and red
Majestic trees
In all their splendor
If I could paint love
The canvas would be filled
With the blue coolness of water
The glaring whiteness of sand
Silver and gold reflections
Of the sun dancing on the waves
As they rush to the shore
If I could paint love
I would try to convey
The meeting of our minds
Our hearts beating as one
Our souls entwined
With the swirling colours of the rainbow
To express to the world
Our happiness, our joy
If I could paint love
If only I could....
