Poetry: World War II

by Abraham Ibarra

Created on: April 13, 2009

Were sitting in our houses

Doing what we do day by day

Post comes in by the bay

We all say, "Nay, this cant be it"

We pack our bags but our parents don't

Their to old to fight for their rights

Me and my brother get in the car

Getting the final scent of our mar

We arrive only to start fighting right away

We don't even get a second delay

A kid like myself, age seventeen

Cant even enjoy my day to day life

Instead, I spent my final hours fighting

For something I didn't even cause

Instead, I end up mounting my actions

Dealing with only my last nausea

Why are we fighting?

We are not Slaves

God has taken away from us

Our life, Does it have to be this way?
