Poetry: Handle with care

by Charlotte Louise Nystrom

Created on: April 13, 2009   Last Updated: June 06, 2009

Be gentle as you handle me,
I am so sensitive you see.

I see, I feel, I react,
I live and thrive,
upon contact.

I fear and care, share and dream,
Proceed with caution,
Don't damage me.

I see beauty, you see strange.
If you're not careful I may change,
I see good in all of you,
Now just show me that it's true.

Please be gentle,
Or I may break,
Sometimes sentimental,
Only so much, I can take.

Today my spirit,
It shines, it smiles,
It flies high,
but oh, so fragile,
Do be careful,
don't make me cry.

I have faith, I have hope,
If you're not careful,
You'll take both.
