How to choose a video game that's right for you

To choose the right game for you, first you must take a path to spiritual gaming enlightenment to discover the right game to play. If you don't have time to do that, just read these definitions I thought of just now.

1. Achievements/Trophy Gamer or Completionist Gamer

This is only if you own a 360 or a PS3. Finishing games is good, but you want to show everyone else how good you are by increasing your gamerscore or trophy collection. You have no shame and will play "Hannah Montana: The Game" for an easy score. The games can be childish and boring but as long as you get your sweet achievements/trophies you don't care about how boring Kung Fu Panda is. Games that appeal to the Completionist gamer are anything on the 360 or the PS3, no matter how rubbish they are. Getting everything is what matters!

2."It's the destination that matters" Gamer or Speed gaming Gamer

Most people like to take time completing games but you rush through them so fast buying games is pointless, renting them is the way to go. You finish them no matter what they are, but unlike Completionist Gamers, you have dignity and want at least moderately challenging games. The harder the difficulty the better and once the main story is finished, it's back to the video shop for your next victim of speed gaming. Shooting games like Halo 3, Call Of Duty 5 and Gears of War 1&2 are some games you might like so you can say to your mates "Guess who finished Call of Duty on Veteran?"

3. Sports Nut Gamer

This one is pretty self explanatory. You love sport, so when it's pouring outside you relax by slam dunking your way to victory in NBA 2k9 or all the other sports games like ice hockey, golf, NFL and soccer. When it's a rainy day and your favourite teams aren't playing a match, time to boot up your console and re-enact some classic moments from history using your favourite teams. Play ball!

4. Numero Uno Gamer or #1 Gamer/Hardcore gamer

Numero Uno is what you want to be. You venture online to seek worthy opponents and take them down no matter what the game. Forget solo campaign games, unless it's got online capability and you can taunt people over your headset, you won't be happy. Hours of your life are wasted/enriched as you play for upwards of 10 hours stints practicing and honing your game so you can top the ranks/score boards. Shooting Games, Racing games and Sports Games are all you want. Get out there and own some noobs!

5. The Casual Gamer or Creative/Relaxation Gamer or Family Gamer

The final category in this journey to self discovery. The Casual Gamer is completely opposite to all the above. You enjoy games like Sims and only play every so often and break out Wii Sports or Singstar for family gatherings. M rated games for you are unheard of as all your games are PG, so everyone in the family can play. Cooking Mama, The Sims, Sims City, MySims, Singstar, Buzz! and several other games like those are all you play, and only when you don't have a date for Saturday night.

There you have it, I hope the 10 minutes you spent reading this article has awakened you to the kind of games you want. Have a good one.
