Poetry: Wild & free

by Monica Lakhwani

The sight of a woman I caught stayed with me throughout my youth

Her hair was as a red blaze caught on fire

Why did you go?

Her expression like that of an injured animal.

Eyes in the shape of a cat,

large and bright green

Like a jungle woman hard to tame,

I lost her...the woman so wild and free.
