How to stay safe when visiting theme parks

The happiest place on Earth spends a great deal of time and money making sure that they remain the happiest place on Earth for your entire visit. Amusement parks are places where you are supposed to be able to forget the outside world, and get lost in a land of make-believe for a day. But an amusement park should also be looked at like any other large gathering of people, and you should exercise the same vigilance at an amusement park that you would exercise anywhere else.

The first thing you should do to protect yourself at an amusement park is eliminate any low hanging bags or anything else that could be easily snatched up by a would-be thief.
Purses with long straps or handles are an invitation for any thief that is working in the amusement park. Eliminate these problems by investing in a pouch that straps to your waist. These pouches are traditionally made of durable vinyl, they are very easy to access as you can have the placed at the front of your waist, and they are secure enough where nothing will fall out of them as you are enjoying yourself at the amusement park. Mom and Dad may want to both invest in one, as Dad's wallet can just as easily fall out of his pocket as Mom's purse can be stolen.

Never take anything for granted at an amusement park. There are many things that can seem strange, even for a place that has grown men in cartoon character costumes running around. If you see suspicious activity then report it to park security immediately.
Do not assume that everything you see in an amusement park is part of the show.

Sometimes we can find ourselves having so much fun at an amusement park that we tend to lose track of our responsibility. Always keep track of your small children when you are in an amusement park, and never leave them unattended for any reason at all. If your kids do not want to, or cannot, ride with you on any particular ride then move on to something else. The last thing you want to do is leave your children unattended.

Amusement parks are designed for fun and vacationing families, and for the most part that is exactly what they are. But as society becomes more unpredictable, it is up to you to make sure that you stay vigilant at your next amusement park visit and prevent you and your family from becoming another alarming statistic. All you need to do is keep your eyes open, keep track of your kids, and never assume that everything is all part of the act.
