Why we can't see God
Twinkle, twinkle little star how I wonder what you are?
In the beginning the very beginning God created a great nebulous and that great light He placed in the heavens to rule the day. That brilliant light is what we know as the sun; a powerful orb which glowing embers mark the periods of our work and play. Its radiant glow bathes the entire land and illuminates all that is within its path. We long for the days when its rays draw closer for those days give us prolonged seasons of frolic. Much of its beauty is now lost in its convection for we feel the threat of its heat. Most are well aware that the heat of a blazing sun can dry up any of that untamable beast we refer to as oceans. We have no control over its brilliance or it's far reaching effects. Man can not put reigns on the sun. Our eyes are too weak to behold it. Our skin is too frail to bask in its glow. There are none who boast of touching its borders for to do so would mean instant death. Human limitations make us incapable of being able to embrace or behold its radiance.
This article does not seek to praise the beauty of a creation.
Here we speak of the creator. We speak of one who holds the orb in His hand and rolls it across the expanse of the heavens to awaken creation. We are talking about the brilliance of His visage in comparison to the sun of a sweltering desert the likes of which there is no comparison. We are talking about seeing God with the naked eye of humanism.
Why can't man see God?
He will die!
God's glory is 1000x more brilliant than that of our brightest light, the sun. His glory alone illuminates all of heaven while the sun merely lights the earth. How do we know this? In Isaiah 60:19 these words are recorded "The sun will no more be your light by day, nor will the brightness of the moon shine on you, for the LORD will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory". One must ask, could human eyes behold such a light; a light that is more potent than a noon day sun?
If you could, imagine what it would be like to touch the sun with your hands, to stare directly into the burning orb, and to graze it with your skin. What would be the repercussions of such an act? Wouldn't the fiery amber glow pierce your eyes? Think of the heat of a fiery furnace, wouldn't the warmth of the suns reaching rays incinerate your skin rendering instant death. After all, this was the plight of the soldiers who stood at the mouth of a scorching furnace in Babylon.
So consider a sun
