Sestina -The Shore
I gazed into the grainy sand
Of your thoughts which seem to crunch
Under my feet, drowning in the surf
Its cold rush over my head and eyes so I can never
See with what the Seaweed
Allows. All painted in a nosy Freckle
On my sunburned cheeks where a thousand freckles
Accumulate as the sand
On misty waters filled with gross seaweed.
I walk a thousand miles on the waters edge to hear the CRUNCH!
of the sand. My skin will never
Heal until I hear the surf
Again. I take these trips to go Surfing.
I take these trips to wander aimlessly as a freckle
On a face but I never
take these trips for the sand
sticking to my sunburned skin that goes CRUNCH!
with aches and dry withered cells like seaweed.
I touch the wet shells with a finger and I crunch the dry seaweed
Beneath my feet and I bath a hot ankle in the surf.
It's hot, and sticking to my skin, this sand crunches
My face forever Freckled
With the likeness of the shore where the sand
Sleeps forever, never
To wake but never
To reveal the secret of the seaweed
Trapped in desolate sandy
Shores of tomorrow where surfers
Rendevous together like Freckles
On a sunburned arm. His surfboard's broken, CRUNCH!
Oh seaweed, you're gross. Oh sand, you crunch.
Oh surf, here again I never
Saw sand watering the shore like these tan freckles

Poetry: The shore
by Jon Coe
A fine line that separates land and sea
My one place to walk to gather sanity
Not knowing what I find upon the shore
Each step
I have been walking along the shore,
And feel the soft sand beneath my feet,
Knowing peace I adore from the air,
Come together
Song of the Northern Shore
Oh Abigail, Abigail, may the sword remain unsheathed
For you were lost unto the breeze, of a harsh
I walk along the shore so peaceful and serene.
I love to feel the sand so softly under my feet.
I love to breathe the ocean
Undulating waves crash up on the shore
The sun no more than a smudge in sky
Dark clouds storm across the sky
The waves toss
