Rid your body of toxins the natural way

Get rid of toxins the natural way

We are exposed to toxins every day. From the air we breathe, to the food we eat, the chemicals that we ingest, if not removed from our bodies, can cause health problems. Our bodies have natural means to detoxify itself. One of the ways is through perspiration.

Hippocrates said, "Give me the power to create a fever, and I shall cure any disease". This supports the benefits of sweating. Raising the body's temperature can help the body fight infections and get rid of toxins through perspiration.

Sweating does more than just cooling the body by removing excess heat. The skin, being the largest organ in the body, plays an important part in detoxifying the body. It works together with the other organs - kidneys, lungs, liver - and the immune and lymphatic systems to cleanse the body of toxins.

A key benefit of sweating is that it can expel heavy metals within a short duration in the sauna, which can take the kidneys a much longer time to do the same. Sweating also stimulates the immune system.

Chemicals we use and are exposed to can cause toxins to remain on our skin. Sweating removes these toxins and beautifies the skin.

Sweating corrects our blood PH levels. Toxins can cause our blood PH levels to become acidic. When it is too acidic, it can lead to health problems. Sweat removes the toxins and reduces the acidity caused by the toxins.

During exercise, sweating helps remove lactic acid that builds up and causes stiff muscles and fatigue. Also improves blood circulation.

Always exercise caution. You can lose a lot of water during a short time in the sauna so it is vital to keep yourself hydrated. Drink lots of water or juices before, during and after a session in the sauna. The same advice applies to anyone exercising intensively.

Burning calories is another benefit derived from sweating. It takes effort to work out a sweat. Calories are also burned, at a higher rate during a sauna session.

To sum up, some of the many benefits of sweating are:

1. Removal of toxins, including heavy metals2. Beautifies the skin

3. Improves blood circulation

4. Reduces acidity and fatigue

5. Burns calories

6. Stimulates the immune system

As always, despite the benefits of exercise and the use of saunas, one should always consult a doctor before starting.
