valuable to someone, although it may not be you. They can be vendored, or check the Auction House for the same item and see if they are selling.

Green items are uncommon by the WoW world standards, however, they often sell for a decent amount, and the drop rate is pretty good. Blue items are rare and will sell for even more. Most of the time I will put this items on the Auction House before I vendor them. The Auction House will always give you more money in return if a player purchases your items than a vendor anywhere will.

Finally, purple items are Epic items and worth considerably more than any other item you may get from drops. Especially when it comes to heroics, and sometimes even instances on regular difficulty. Do not underestimate the value of purple items, even if they are not for your class.

Remember, you can only sell items that are not soulbound, namely the bind on equip items, on the Auction House. Some rare items will bind to your account, but mostly, they will bind when you put them on. Many dungeons drop items that are bind on pickup, therefore, if you pick it up, you could only wear it or sell it to the vendor.

Professions are by far the best way to earn your WoW currency. Many of your in game kills will have some WoW coin for you, but the real money comes from professions. Once your toon is level 80, do not count out the dailies. You can get better gear, more gold for each completion, and the ever so important reputation.

Mostly, have fun, and enjoy your gold making. Pick two professions that coexist such as mining and jewelcrafting, herbalism and alchemy, skinning and leatherworking, etc. to make the most gold out of your sessions.

There is more to WoW than meets the eye. Everything has a price, and a reward, just like in the real world. Learn your character, research the dungeons, find your rotation, enjoy your professions, and work at it and you will be a World of Warcraft GoldIllionaire.
