Include these ten simple things in your daily routine and keep your life in balance:
When you begin your day, list the most important things which you have to do in a diary. This will help to maintain your focus and keep order and balance in your life. Constantly refer back to your list and mark off what is done. There is great satisfaction in seeing your achievements down in black and white.
Take time to have a bite to eat and something to drink. The latter should be nourishing. You cannot function effectively feeling drained and weak.
Walk in pleasant surroundings and breathe in fresh air. Look up at the sky and watch birds,insects and animals. This helps to stay in tune with nature. Closeting oneself indoors without any natural light or air is a surefire way to lose your sense of wellbeing. Some people even have withdrawal symptoms when they do not feel sunshine regularly.
Find time to listen to your loved ones, those closest to you, and to hold them, hug them and kiss them. Include your pets. You will find that everyone around you will respond much more positively.
Organise your living environment and your workplace. In this way your sense of order will add to balanced daily living.
Watch a favorite television show, read a newspaper, book or magazine and listen to the radio. Being in tune with the world around you means that you need to know what is going on.
Once a day assess your life's goals. Decide how close you are to achieving them and what needs to be done if you are not.
Always treat yourself to something that pleases you. This may take the form of a relaxing massage, seeing a good movie, visiting a friend or going shopping. Whatever it is, make it fun and remember that balanced living means happy living.
Leave enough time to arrive at your destination wherever it is that you are going. Having to dash in a mad hurry against the crowds is contrary to one's feeling of balance and wellbeing. One inevitably forgets things or loses something when time is against you.
Above all, be generous with yourself. If you are you will be amazed at how tolerant you become with others. We are not perfect beings or automatons. We cannot be all things to all men. Allow yourself your humanity and relax.
Use these tips to bring balance to your life and to those around you.
