Night Out
Waking from a night on the town,
can't get up, I'm stuck in down,
Still drunk, ears ringing, and what's that smell,
wait, where am I, bars? A cell?
Hey! Hey! What happened to me?
Blood on my shirt, how can it be?
Hey somebody! The walls I can't take,
There's been a mistake, oh god, a mistake!
Silent observer, an eye on the wall,
they're watching me, they hear my call.
A jingle of keys, and footsteps are coming,
What have I done, the impact is numbing.
Will I lose my job, where is my car?
What happened last night to go this far?
Oh lord I promise, I truly confess,
if I get through this and fix this mess.
I'll never, ever do it again,
just like last time, remember then?
I've learned my lesson for real this time,
it's just a misdemeanor crime.
It's not my fault, I know it's not,
yes, I was drinking and smoking pot,
But I won't do it anymore,
you can count on that one for sure.
The guard is standing at the gate,
come on C.O. don't make me wait,
Get me out of here, oh please,
I'm begging you on scuffled knees.
Good morning, you feeling better now?
Why am I here, I don't know how?
You fell of a bench, passed out drunk,
so go home and shower, you smell like a skunk.

Us four men were walking in line,
I asked them how they spent their time.

I'm trapped inside a tiny box
that's deep inside of me.
I know I'm in there somewhere
but I'll never let me free.
