As the sun slowly sets, I face another cold and lonely night
He gets all slicked up, out the door he goes and soon his truck fades out of sight
How many bars, how many beers, how many women will it be again tonite?
Tell me, please God, tell me
What did I ever do
He used to be so very happy with me
Tell me, won't you please tell me
What or who changed him and took him away from me.
We used to be so very happy, but now we barely speak
He goes his way, I go mine, we are beginning to lead separate lives
The distance between us is growing faster all the time
All I can do is sit here and watch all this pass me by.
Tell me, please God, tell me
What did I ever do
He used to be so very happy with me
Tell me, won't you please tell me
What or who changed him and took him away from me.
I went to him so many, many times
Each and every time, he'd tell me everything was fine
Gradually, I gave up on this man of mine
My heart was slowly breaking inside.
Tell me, please God, tell me
What did I ever do
He used to be so very happy with me
Tell me, won't you please tell me
What or who changed him and took away from me.
One day came, the final day came
I woke up and saw the stranger he had become
I no longer knew him, the man I once called mine
Now he belonged to something or someone else and no longer was mine no more.
Tell me, please God, tell me
What did I ever do
He used to be so very happy with me
Tell me, won't you please tell me
What or who changed him and took him away from me
As the day begins and as the day ends, the sun rises and the sun sets
I face only loneliness, a broken and bleeding heart inside
The nights will turn into days, my heart will begin and slowly mend
Someday, my heart will be healed and I will once again be me.

Scared To Say
One more day passes slowly
And another hour dies
I rest my head in my hands
And wait
Time stops
And I wonder why
I'm

He was dangerous
Like a loose cannon
Says he's going to get on his feet
but I never saw him standin'
He spills viscous words

Love is the rain.
A light haze settling on tropical skin,
Gently soaking through clothing
Leaving a clammy,
Hot aftermath.
Love
THE GREAT PRETENDER
Tonight I must pretend you don't matter.
Tonight I must momentarily dismiss all these torturous thoughts
