Handle with care the child who weeps or does not understand,
Have patience and try helping them with simple comprehension,
Their ignorance is hurtful, and it's not something they planned,
And those tears of sheer frustration can relieve a bit of tension.
Handle with care relationships with other folks you greet,
For every single one of them should matter deep inside,
It may be someone who you love, or someone that you meet,
Though you will then sleep soundly as you know at least you tried.
Handle with care the broken heart who seeks to tell their tale,
It may be overstated, though they feel it like you do,
Have patience when their story fades and seems a little stale,
And respect that every human being has their point of view.
Handle with care the foolish heart who fills your soul with pain,
For there's a price to pay and they will learn this on their own,
Learn how to grow, and minimize this kind of hurt again,
And remember that a foolish heart will end up all alone.
Handle with care the people who despise the things you do,
Remember they have feelings and perhaps sometime's they're right,
If you can handle them with care, perhaps they'll listen too,
It never pays dismissing them because they are contrite.
Handle with care the child you raise, the little child next door,
For these are growing beings with great need much more than yours,
By being gentle in your ways, you learn what love is for,
And find yourself receiving love, in all the things you do.
Handle with care emotions which run wild and make assertions,
The chaos of a moment which turns everything at will,
To negative and hurtful, to deceit and to desertions,
Take time to find solutions, and to let those feelings still.
Handle with care the life you have, the only one you've got,
Look after you, look after those around that make your living,
The kind of life you want to lead that means an awful lot,
And repays itself in bonuses when lived by codes of giving.
Handle with care that package, labelled out so clearly written,
Not with print or paper markings, but with common sense and pride,
Be not afraid to give your heart, for fear of being bitten,
For it is the fear that spoils the joy, kept bottled up inside.
Handle with care your sleeping and your waking moments too,
And let the people that you love be sure that you are there,
Ready to love, and give to them, with everything you do,
Which proves in little daily acts, you handled them with care.

I live and thrive,

Yet we insist that it transform itself
