When Christ climbed up on Golgotha
the rivers ran darkly with the blood of the butchered
and churned down their old paths
into the sea with a heaving sickening fall.
When Christ climbed up on Golgotha
the savage wind attacked the earth's great belly
tearing at her tender flesh and carrying off her limbs
with a triumphant screeching call.
When Christ climbed up on Golgotha
the sky thickened with the smoke of flaming stones
which rained down in torrents
and left a blackening hideous pall.
But when Christ emerged from his chrysalis
the rivers flowed clearly
with water from a virgin spring,
the zephyrs bore a sweet scent
of new leaves and blossoms from an unknown grove,
the sky grew luminous with a light
no one had ever seen before,
and in that blessed moment
every sacred thing
turned trembling toward the Radiance
and spread open
with the joy of Heavenly Grace.

of servants so fine.
They gather to worship,
The Risen Divine.
A day of victory,
and redemption for
