LET ME FORGET

It's been almost a year now

So you'd think I'd feel okay

But when the world is quiet

And the day turns into night

Sometimes it feels like yesterday

Although that final train has long departed

And those who made me sad have since moved on

Sometimes when I'm asleep

They all come back into my dreams

And it's just the same when I was there before

This heartache at last

I was there two and a half years

I can't believe it was that long

I worked from day to day

And collected weekly pay
