Daily routines to keep your life in balance

Time seems to have speeded up. We're all dancing to the same tune, only faster. If your life is getting out of balance here are some things you can do to put some stability back into it:

Eating Right

Reign in your eating habits and get back to eating healthy. Say "no" to processed food, at least for a while. Give your body a chance to recover from hibernating in front of the TV this winter.

Getting Exercise

Get some form of exercise at least 5 days a week. 45 minutes per day is ideal, but even 5 minutes a day done on a consistent basis is better than nothing.

Indulge in a Hobby

If you don't have a hobby, get one. Find something you enjoy doing, even if it's only a few times a week.

Pamper Yourself

Do something special for yourself each and every day, no matter how small it may be. Take some time every day for you. Forget your cares, forget other people. Pamper yourself in some way. Meditate, pray, file your nails, give yourself a facial, treat yourself to a latte or chai tea. Spend time on you.

Focus Your Thoughts

Think of something every single day that brings a smile to your face. This will bring peace to your soul.

Be Thankful

Be thankful each day for the good things in your life and for good people you share it with.

Learn to Say "No"

Don't be afraid of saying "no" at least once in a while. Life gets out of control and becomes chaotic because we let it. If you have too much on your plate, well, guess what? You are the one that put it there! Learn to say "no". Learn to delegate.

Know You're Not a Super Hero

Realize that you are not Superman or Superwoman. The world will not end if you drop one of the balls you are juggling.

Bring the Outdoors In

Take some time to smell the roses, literally. Pick a bouquet. Buy a bouquet. The sight of flowers and their fragrance will help calm you.

A Man's Best Friend Might Be His Cat

If you have a pet, spend a few minutes playing with them, sitting with them, being with them. When was the last time you hugged your pet?

Give Yourself a Smile

Smile at yourself in the mirror when you comb your hair or brush your teeth. You will be amazed at the effect this will have on your mood. Others might think you're crazy, but that's their problem.

It's been said that "life is something that happens to you while you're making other plans". Make sure your plans include doing things that help you to stay balanced.
