Cozy and warm in my soft bed I lay
Waiting patiently for the light of day.
Just a little more water, my need to soothe,
I stretch my body so strong and smooth.
Sunbeams beacon, I raise my head;
Such brightness and glory all golden orange-red.
One wild flower on this hill today
Wild and free in the gentle breeze I play.

such a beauty we do behold;
wild and free until captured,
some young and some are old.

I watch from my window each evening at dusk
As the herons fly home to their roost
They come one by one - or sometimes in flocks
O'er
I long to run wild and free to chase rainbows,
to be infused with all life's goodness,
to have blessings chase me and
I know what you see when you see me,
A creature to keep in captivity
So, you wish to abduct me,
And hold me hostage indefinitely
Encounter
Light and dark at play
across the dappled water
I hear the frost break
underfoot, like glass
