How to Increase Your Sperm Count Naturally
If you are trying to conceive without any luck, a visit to a urologist will reveal your sperm count. An optimal sperm count for conceiving is in the "normal" range. Although there are medical treatments to increase below average sperm count, many men prefer to start out using natural methods. Below are some steps you can take on your own to try and increase your sperm count
Quit Smoking
Tobacco has a negative impact on your sperm count. Quitting smoking will not only raise your sperm count but also increase your semen volume. In addition, quitting smoking will improve your general health which will be important to you if you plan to start a family. Other substances that can adversely affect your sperm count are the prolonged use of recreational drugs such as marijuana and cocaine, and alcohol.
Eat Healthy Foods
If you are not eating a healthy diet, you will see the impact on your general health, including your sperm count. Eat more whole grains and green leafy vegetables for the biggest boost in your sperm count.
Lower Stress
Stress is a contributor to infertility problems. One good way to alleviate stress is to start a regular exercise program. It doesn't have to be intensive or time-consuming. Just a brisk walk for 20 to 30 minutes three or four times a week will help to decrease your stress level. Learning to relax and lowering stress can help in cases of infertility caused by hormonal problems as well.
Getting to your healthy weight can dramatically increase sperm production, as well as improve your life in general.
Watch the Heat Down There
Another thing that can adversely affect sperm levels is heat. This is not just an old wives tale! Close-fitting underwear, such as jockey shorts, and tight jeans produce enough heat to impair the production of sperm. Switch to boxer shorts and looser jeans and pants. Avoid lengthy hot baths and sauna or hot tub sessions; the heat decreases sperm mobility and production.
Look into herbal remedies to increase sperm production. These are available in health food stores, or you can purchase them online if you feel embarrassed buying them in a store. There are a variety that can be effective with no side effects because the ingredients are all-natural.
Keep in mind that if you persevere, in nine months you could have a new little family member. All your hard work to conceive will be worth it in the end.
