Diets don't work for everyone, depends I guess. Most people who end up on diets, end up doing and eating what they were before, after the diet ends. If you want to benefit from being better health wise, well, I do suggest eating properly. Not just eating foods that are lower in fat calories will do it. Your body needs the proper nutrition to function. For instance, some fats are truly good and healthy for you. Amino fatty acids is what your body needs to survive. Not all pats are bad or damaging to your health.
So forget trying to avoid eating, for your plan to lose weight. It's okay to eat better, like getting more fruits and vegetables in your system. Don't eat foods so high in trans fats and saturated fats. Everyone should maintain a normal, consistent, and proper eating. For you to lose weight, no, you shouldn't start to eat less than others. That's not going to keep your weight off. Truthfully it's not real healthy for you. If you honestly believe that you are getting poor nutrition from over eating, or not eating foods with enough proteins and vitamins, then a diet is probably what you need.
If you're overweight, been overweight most your life. You might not have a bad diet at all, just slow metabolism that stores that access fat. So how do you lose weight? Well there's a few ways, without changing your eating habits. First off, start drinking green tea everyday. Green tea is not only super great for your immune system, heart diseases, anti-cancer, but it speeds up your metabolism and does support weight loss, without dieting. The chinese have been using green tea for centuries. In 2005, only 15% of people admitted they drink green tea daily.
Start eating virgin coconut oil. Virgin Coconut oil, again speeds up the metabolism and burns calories much easier. Burning calories is key, not eating lacking-of calories. Diets aren't possible, if your body is not getting the proper calories it needs. Virgin Coconut oil does a lot more, than just simply losing weight. It again, support an extremely healthy immune system, is great for skin and hair.
You can take omega-3 oil, which may, or may not help lose weight, but will lower cholesterol and gives you many other perks health wise. if you are looking to improve your overall health, these are the better ways to go, then going on a diet. It is important to eat proper though, make sure you are getting enough vegetables, grains, fruits, and some meats even. Eat more lean meats, and avoid fried foods.
Exercise can help, it's good to burn calories and maintain being active. Diets don't work long-term, for some short. You can eat plenty, but healthy and normally. You can benefit health wise from doing a lot more than just what you do, and don't eat.
