Poetry: My angel

by Jacquelyn Hammond

Created on: April 10, 2009

An angel wept in silence as her body lay in pain. The tears slid down her face while her blood spilled a stain.

She found no words to speak as she took a last deep breath. The angel looked upon herself as she drifted to her death.

As she wept she sought the answers, only one came to mind. The lord had looked upon her and decided it was time.

Her family's hearts were shattered when the words found their ears. Heartbreak overwhelmed them with a million tiny tears.

The angel watches closely as her loved ones live their days. She holds her arms around them as each one stops and prays.

With her angel eyes upon me as I kneel here and cry. She whispers to me softly and I know she wouldn't lie.

She whispers how she loves me and everyone so dear. She says she watches closely and she's always very near.

She knows how much we miss her but we will not wait in vain. We will see her soon enough in the place where there's no pain.
