Swords singing on the breeze,
Imagine the pageantry.
Kings and Queens of long ago.
Not fantasy?
Where did they go?
Cities that shone, copper and gold.
People in sandals upon cobbled stone.
Tunics and jewels, hierarchy reigns,
Royalty waving for peasantry's strain.
Myth and Lore whole cultures they hold.
Knights in castle's catacombs,
Guarding treasury of royalty's blood.
While Lancelot and Gwen fall tragically in love.
Tales of wars, dragons and life.
Ancient and missing parts of their lines.
Supernatural creatures and people alike,
Ancient cities by soft torch light.
The fantasy and draw has never diminished.
Easter Island and Rome's sweet song remain,
Reminiscing in afternoon rain.
Standing today as pageantry's proof.
The ancient tales still hold truth.
