Bring out that inner glow in your skin

Every woman would like her face to glow with health and freshness. There are some simple things that you can do to help you to get that fresh faced look.

Do ensure that you get enough sleep. You cannot burn the candle at both ends, constant lack of sleep shows in your face and will make your skin look pasty and dull.

Do not smoke and avoid smoky atmospheres. In research done with identical twins, one a smoker and one a non-smoker, not only was the smoker's face more noticeably lined but also in a skin elasticity test the non-smoking twin's facial skin tested 15 years younger than her twin's.

Drinking too much alcohol shows in your face too especially as you get older.

Never go to bed without cleansing your face of makeup and grime, using a gentle cleanser followed by a toner. Be especially gentle when cleansing the skin around the eye area, you may wish to use a special cleanser for this sensitive skin or there are now cleansing lotions available which state that they are suitable for both the face and the eye area. Never use harsh products on your face.

Expensive products are not necessarily the best. If you have a sensitive skin, steer clear of highly perfumed products, you may find that one of the natural ranges of facial cleansing products suits you best. Use cotton wool pads to cleanse your face and not facial tissues, they are too rough.

Use a moisturizer to prevent the skin of your face drying out; tinted moisturizers can be used instead of a foundation. When applying cream or foundation to your face, do so gently, never drag the skin. Use light upward strokes and never pull the skin downward.

Protect your face from the sun by using a suitable sun cream or lotion with a high protection factor. Do not just use it in the summer, spring and autumn sunshine can still harm your skin.

Smile a lot, a face always looks better with a smile on it. Keep a happy balance in life discontent, anger, stress, bitterness and frowns show on your face.

Look after your general health, a healthy looking face can only occur in a healthy body. Eat a healthy balanced diet and be sure to include all vitamins and minerals, the B vitamins are particularly good for the skin. Have your five portions of fruit and vegetables every day. Drink plenty of water.

If you are going out for the evening and have tired eyes try lying down for ten minutes with a slice of cucumber or a cold, damp tea bag over each eye.

An internet search will reveal ways for you to make simple natural beauty products from the contents of your larder. When you make your own beauty products you can be sure that they contain no harsh chemicals which could damage or irritate your skin.

A healthy fresh glowing skin is a beautiful skin and these simple methods will keep your skin that way.
