You've barricaded your soul,
Locked out your heart,
Dug a moat around your body,
Built a fortress of solitude.
Attempting to avoid love's pain
You strengthen your earthly citadel,
But your walls will not hold,
They will be topped, you will be conquered.
In love's never ending wars,
None are spared, all are casualties.
There are no winners,
All stumble on the road of broken hearts.
Yea it is better to willfully jump into the fray
Roaring, with your eyes wide open,
Than to be ambushed by passion's assassins
Oblivious, asleep within your castle walls.
Curiously when you are old and peaceful
You will look back on these terrible days
As being the best days of your life.
Unlock your heart, furiously leap into battle.

But now I am an unwanted distraction.
No longer is your love still true.
Oh, but
