EXPRESSIONS OF LOVE

"You are precious, I adore you." The words ring sweet,

But, they won't sustain you, when there is nothing to eat.

Holding a job, cleaning the house, paying the bills,

Doing the laundry, mowing the yard, cooking the meals,

All "expressions of love", we too often do not see.

Love gives its' all, but the words come free.

When there 's someone there when you're sick or hurt,

Or that someone washes and irons your favorite shirt.

Having someone comb and braid your hair for school.

Someone watching, who cares if you slip and break a rule.

Someone to understand, to care, and to forgive,

All "expressions of love", within the way we live.

Love is an abiding, sustaining force,it requires our all.

It is an inflated cushion ever ready to break our fall.

Love fixes bikes, reads books, love laughs and cries.

Love never gives up, because love always "tries".

"Expressions of love" are seen by the way we live,

But it never hurts to say, "I love you," or "I forgive".
