Losing weight is a common goal which most people share these days. However, the very thought of shedding excess pounds can often cause us to give up before we have even started. We feel that it is just too difficult - whether it is through simply just thinking that we can't, or through trying out fad diets which never give us lasting results.
It is also true that the more food that you eat and the less exercise that you do, the more tired you will feel. Then the more tired that you feel the less motivation you will have to get up and do some exercise. Therefore it can be a vicious cycle that often makes the thought of losing weight seem impossible. However, it really isn't and there are ways in which you can lose weight easily.
Becoming Food Wise
Many weight loss tips tell you that to lose weight you need to cut back on what you eat. A lot of so called "experts" will tell you to cut out certian foods altogether for a set time period. Unfortunately whilst this may give you some weight loss, it will not last and it is certianly not healthy. You need a good balanced diet to keep your body working properly and that means not cutting anything out of your diet.
By becoming wiser about food it is possible to cut back on calories, but still enjoy what you eat. Making simple changes will make all of the difference to your weight loss results. If you are just starting out it will help if you keep a food diary, just so you know exactly what it is that you eat in a typical day. Use the diary for a week and then go over it to see what foods you eat more of and how frequently you eat them. Then once you have a good idea of what you eat, you can then make necessary changes.
For example, if you currently eat 2 chocolate bars per day and you want to cut back but you still need a snack, instead of moving straight onto fruit, try other alternatives. Cut back to one chocolate bar per day and maybe try a hot chocolate drink for the other snack. Many hot chocolate drinks such as Options, have less than 100 calories per drink. They will fulfil your chocolate craving without piling on the pounds. They will also enable you to get used to eating less chocolate. When you do get used to having the drink instead of the chocolate, you can then try substituting one chocolate drink for something healthier such as a banana.
The main idea is to eat healthier gradually. Making small changes will help you to lose weight slowly. It has to be more of a lifestyle choice than an actual diet. Sure fad diets will help you to lose a stone in a week, but that weight loss won't last and it is definitely not healthy.
Overall learning more about food and making small changes is the easiest way to lose weight. There are so many healthy foods that you could have that still taste really nice. The main thing to remember is that easy does not mean quickly! No decent weight loss will occur in a short period of time. It has to be a gradual change otherwise it will not last. Eating foods that give you more energy will also encourage you to do more exercise too. So if you want to lose weight easily, forget fad diets learn more about the food that you are eating and make more responsible choices.
