TV show reviews: Take Home Chef

Take Me Home, Take Home Chef!

TLC's "Take Home Chef" is truly an inspiration for the cooking enthusiast, not only for those skilled in culinary cuisine, but for those who dabble in minor kitchenery- 101.

The 30-minute series gives chef Curtis the opportunity to develop dining delicacies for the average, stay home wife, mother and girlfriend, who usually can't tell the difference between a porterhouse and a filet. The Take Home Chef is a great show that teaches how you can prepare gourmet meals without being a gourmet chef. Curtis makes cooking look easy and always appealing. After watching the show, I feel inspired to try new foods, expirement with traditional dining settings and courses, and most importantly to treat each meal with respect and dignity.

The Take Home Chef is a great way to spend the early evening in preparation for making a great impression in the kitchen with new wisdom, confidence and recipes to make anyone's mouth water with anticipation. Some of the wisdom Curtis shares is how to prepare an artichoke for cooking or how to pick out a great steak. Whether it's pasta or sashimi, the Take Home Chef is a great way to break the ice when it comes to preparing meals for your mate, family or children, but don't foget to save room for dessert!

One of the greatest and most forgotten part of every meal comes just in time for the conclusion to each episode of Take Home Chef-dessert! My favorite and most memorable episode of the show featured Curtis' upside-down, chocolate-covered, mango ice cream igloo. The fresh mango was mixed with high-quality vanilla ice cream, then frozen into a bowled-out portion of the vanilla, then covered in rich, melted chocolate. This made me think that that popular, cake-inside-of-a-cake bowl, As Seen On TV, could be used for more than just cake and ice cream, and this is all thanks to Curtis, the Take Home Chef.

Kudos to Chef Curtis, an Aussie, for bringing the chef home for all of us viewers!
