Millions of people play Worldof Warcraft and are branded by others to have no life. Indeed some people do let the world get away from them when they play, but does this small percent of the people who play and can't manage their time and themselves mean that everyone that plays is slowly wasting their life. In my opinion no. World of Warcarft can be a simple hobby much the same as an instrument or collecting something. Now, many would say playing an instrument or having a collection is more productive then playing World of Warcraft. Is it really? How is having an album full of stamps help you in life. If your a business man how does playing the guitar help you further your career? It doesn't. World of Warcraft is a simple way to unwind and relax after a hard day at school or work. Its the people who can't manage their time that give World of Warcraft a bad name. For most an hour or two a day is more than enough play time. Wor;d of Warcraft is designed so that you don't need 5 hours each day to get stuff done and stay competitive. You don't need to waste your life on it, it's not how the game was made.

Some people however play impulsively. They Play for hours and hours on end and whittle away there life. For these people World of Warcraft is ruining their life. They need to eiter quit or manage their time better. Most people however can manage their time and put the game down. These are the people who give the game a bad name as most are not like this.

I myself am an avid World off Warcraft player. Being a skilled raider at max level i know how fun the game can be and how it can be hard to put it down. There was a while when I first began to play that i played excessive amounts. I realized if i kept this up i would flunk my classes so I toned my playing down. Now I play less and do well in school. I keep and A average, play guitar, and play wow. I can tell a group i have to go and so can most of the World of Warcraft playing population.

World of Warcraft can be compared to any relaxation activity. Much like playing an instrument and reading it can be used to cope with problems by given you can enjoyable activity for a few hours. Only when you allow it to the be the only way you cope with problems and it takes over your life does it really become a problem.

World of Warcraft is not a waste of time. it's a simple hobby people play to enjoy themselves and unwind. It is the people who can not see this and play excessively that gives World of Warcraft its bad name.
