With all of our fast paced living it is easy to find yourself feeling off balance. Here are some simple ways to invite some balance back in your life-
1.BREATHE~ one of the quickest ways to center ourselves is to remind ourselves to return to our breathing, letting ourselves feel the simple but real delight of the breath. So take a moment and let yourself acknowledge and even delight in the air entering and leaving your entire body. Try letting your exhalation be slightly longer than the inhalation for an immediate soothing effect.
2.STAND STILL~ when you are so busy rushing around from place to place, you can lose touch with where your body is even at. It is helpful to take a few minutes and be still, noticing where your body is, feeling your connection. Stand still and let yourself reclaim that grounded feeling.
3.BE GRATEFUL~ one of the gentlest ways to restore a sense of balance is to allow gratitude to flow. Wherever we are there is always something to be thankful for. Acknowledge that you feel thankful for someone or something and you will reclaim a sense of balance.
4.INVITE QUIET~ each day find a few minutes to pray, meditate, to be still in your body. Allowing yourself 10 minutes a day to pause and reflect can recharge and balance you.
5.REACH OUT~ offering kindness to others in words or deeds can restore balance to all involved. A few words of encouragement to someone, or just holding open the door can help you feel more connected and balanced.
6.GO OUTSIDE~ take your pup for a long explore, have lunch in the park, stroll on the beach, plant something. These are all good ways to find your balance as you surround yourself in the beauty of nature.
7.SURROUND YOURSELF WITH MUSIC,ART,BOOKS THAT GROUND YOU~ let yourself feel inspired by a great poem or affirmation. Hang up a photo or painting that evokes good feelings, play music that touches you. Each day let yourself be around the things that move you. Life is too short to have the news on all the time!
Perhaps you can try a few of these simple acts today. Try adding 2-3 to your daily life and see what happens. Remember, balance is really your natural way. Sometimes we just need to gently nudge ourselves back on that path.
