It's still too early to tell but based on the track records of their NBA careers, some players might follow the footsteps of NBA greats like Karl Malone, John Stockton, Patrick Ewing, Reggie Miller, and Charles Barkley, all of whom are regarded as among the best players in the league's history but never won a single NBA title. Some of these players has contributed much to their teams and made noise in the league for some time but always fell short and might continue to do so for the rest of their careers. Here's the list:
.) Steve Nash. Steve Nash might go down as one of the best point guards in the league but after 13 NBA seasons, he still has to make it to the finals. Nash's farthest was the Western Conference Finals making it 3 times, 1 with Dallas and 2 with Phoenix. Nash holds career averages of 14.3 points, 8.0 assists, 3.0 rebounds, and hits close to 50% from the field and 43% from behind the arc. Not unless Nash gets out of Phoenix and looks somewhere else, the possibility of winning his very well-deserved ring will be so bleak.
.) Jason Kidd. 36 years old and already in his 17th season in the NBA, Jason Kidd has yet to win a title. Kidd has led the New Jersey Nets twice in the NBA Finals but lost to the Los Angeles Lakers and the San Antonio Spurs. Playing with the Dallas Mavericks might not help Kidd for that cause as the Mavericks are fighting for dear life in this season's playoffs race and facing the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round is highly probable. 2008-09 season is not the one for Jason Kidd.
.) Tracy McGrady. 12 NBA seasons to his credit and countless highlight reels. Those colored Tracy McGrady's career but ironically, T-Mac has yet to win a single playoffs series. Playing for Toronto, Orlando, and Houston in his career, McGrady has made it to the playoffs 7 times but bowed out in the first round in all of those seasons. Not until McGrady can get over that playoffs jinx, the NBA title will remain a dream. At 30 years old, playing for a different team might not be an option as he's surrounded with top caliber guys in Yao Ming, Ron Artest, Shane Battier, and lately, Von Wafer. If T-Mac's health improves, a title is imperative, but for now, it's a far off possibility.
.) Shawn Marion. Along with Steve Nash, Shawn Marion went as close as a step more in making it to the finals, unfortunately, losing to the San Antonio Spurs and Dallas Mavericks in those times. Playing for the weaker Miami Heat and Toronto Raptors might not help Marion's
