Video Games That Should Be Made Into Movies... wow, now there's a scary concept.
Not that I don't think video games would make great movies, it's just that the past history of video game to movie translation (and vice versa)... well, if you get at least a 10% of non suckitude out of your video game to movie translations (and again vice versa) then you are way ahead of the game and doing well for yourself (congrats).
Thing is of course there are a TON of games that could make great movie... just don't hold your breath or fear the worst because what are the odds of the right film crew (ala Mortal Kombat the original) taking on the right movie and making it work, then managing to NOT screw the hellhound on the sequel out (ala the second Mortal Kombat... or Tomb Raider's sequel... any Resident Evil movie or sequel... and so on).
So what would make a good video game to movie translation (given the right team for the right movie/job)? Top ten in no particular order... and no, I will not pair up if I can help it. I just want that miracle match to happen and the right person finds the franchise and makes it sing. Oh yeah.
One - God of War
I mentioned this one in my last game to movie article didn't I? It's the only one I'm looking forward to and it's supposed to be in the works now though WHEN it releases (or if it ever sees the darkness of theater release) is something only the makers of the movie can say. Obviously they'll probably have to pull a Troy on this one and film up Mexico side... no, wait, drug war... uh... film... well, can't film over in Greece since that area of the world is no more safe than Mexico right now. Wherever, just as long as the movie remains true to the original God of War (God of War II can be mette out in the sequel), and they pick the right person to be Kratos and company (then all is right with the world). On the bright side since you never really see her character the voice actress who plays The Narrator/Gaea can be cast in the movie... maybe Kratos' voice too if they do a Star Wars Episode I (since as you remember Ray Parks played Darth Maul but somebody else did Darth Maul's once heard voice). For a more ancient example of this refer back to Arnold Schwarzenegger in "Hercules in New York" (back when Hollywood insist he be known as "Arnold Strong".)
Two - Legend of Zelda
Hinted at, wanted much by all (who doesn't want one of Nintendo's big guns on the silver screen), yet feared as we could get that Zac Effron character playing as Link for
