WHEN A GRANDSON CRIES

I sit tonight with tears falling from my eyes
First time , I ever heard my loving Grandson cry
He said, stuff is happening between Mom and Dad
Sorry, I'm crying Grandma, just am feeling really bad

My sister's life and mine will never be the same
Then I heard him crying really hard again
Guess you know he had me crying too,
Sad thing is there's nothing I can do

Don't worry grandma, I'll take care of mom
I'll help by washing the car and even mow the lawn
I know it won't be easy for her
Now that Dad is gone

Then one last time I hard him cry a lot
Then his tears came to a sudden stop
He said grandma It's not that I'm feeling bad for me
It's more about Mom, you see

I feel I really had to grow up fast in a way
I'm feeling lots of things inside I never felt until today
I'm not going let this stop me from being the man I want to be
Right now, it's about Mom and how different life will be

Now here tonight I sit with tears in my eyes
The baby boy I once knew, is a remarkable young guy
He turned into a little man today, and for that I'm sad
The way he wants no pity, really makes me glad
