Why word count and length are important for Helium articles

The art of writing articles for Helium, or any other place on the internet, is highly dependent on word count and length of the article. Granted, there are many other factors that make up a well written article which will be mentioned later. Avid and serious writers at Helium tend to be more concerned about their article reviews in conjunction with word count and article length.

Many who have written online for some time now usually either keep track of their word count through their text editor program or some other program so that they will know if they are becoming too wordy. Those who write in Microsoft Word keep their status bar viewable at the bottom of the open window to keep track of their word count. This is a great aid to anyone writing for Helium so they will know exactly where they are in their word count at all times.

The reason for keeping track of your word count is to try not to go too far past it. Sometimes it is needed, but usually anything over two pages (roughly 800 to 1000 words depending on the average length of the words) will be passed over by the eternal search engine spiders on the internet.

Why is this important?
You could type the best article on any subject you could think of and it would be passed up if it is too long.
Those little internet computer spiders will know you are trying to push for a high page ranking if your key word density is too high within the first 400 words and rate your article low on the internet.

On the flip side, if your article is too long they may never get to your key words often enough and go onto the next article or webpage which will again make your article page ranking low on the internet. Manage your articles well and rewrite them in such a way where your key words are balanced well throughout your article.

Helium and other writers on the internet know that an average of 3% repeated words within the article mirroring back to the title will not only increase their article page ranking on the internet, but will also bring more readers to read and rank their articles. The downside of this is that those who like to get their news and information off the internet quickly get bored of reading articles such as this if the words "word, count, length, important, Helium," and "articles" are repeated all too often. In retrospect, it is actually better to not push the key word ranking too much.
