Let's start with the basics, hair loss in women is very common, it sucks, but it happens. However, there are some simple precautions you can take to avoid too much hair loss. It is never a good idea to use an excessive amount of chemicals, such as dyes, holding sprays, gels, perms or relaxers. Although they are all tempting, and takes the look of your hair to the next level, please try to avoid these products. Just like excessive heat from flat irons and blow dryers, these products can strip your hair of it's natural moisture. This will cause dry and brittle hair that is more likely to get split ends and have breakage. There are products out there that will make your hair more manageable, like hair serums for frizz, or light moisturizers if you want to let your hair air dry. For styling, Herbal Essences hair wax or putty, helps to hold hair in place without weighing it down if used in small amounts. This way, you will avoid using products that contain alcohol and a list of other damaging ingredients.

Believe it or not, brushing and washing the hair too often promotes hair loss as well. If you are used to washing your hair every day, try washing every other day, and comb or brush only once daily. Make sure that your hair is almost dry before combing or brushing through, the strands are much weaker right at the follicle when wet.

For the women with illnesses that cause hair loss that can not be treated, no need to worry. Go to your local beauty supply store that carries wigs, try some on and see which ones best fit your face. Wigs have come such a long way, and you do not have to pay and arm and a leg for it. You can get very natural ones that are made of human hair and are made by hand, they are very lightweight, and will run you know more than $75 in a store, or around $30 online. The manufacturers will take a medium sized pinch of hair strands and hand-tie them into a wig, they can be washed, or even curled with a curling iron.

Trust me, wigs are the answer to all of our hair prayers, surely, you will see at least two people daily wearing wigs, and not know it. Not to mention, some of your favorite celebrities that have those fabulous hairstyles you've always dreamed of, you can have them too. They may have paid between $1500-$5000 for theirs, it's only because they can afford it. Otherwise, for $40 you can have one that looks the same, or even better. So, go find your color and your style, and have fun with your new look!
