With today's economy virtually in tatters and jobs being lost at an alarming rate, people are looking for ways to give their earnings a boost. There are several ways that people can get a quick influx of money. All of them are pretty easy and don't require a lot of effort, though sure, you might need to leave the house or apartment.

1) Use eBay and Amazon to sell goods online

While it involves leaving your house or apartment, it won't be too much of an inconvenience if you leave buying the goods you'll be selling until you're already out. It'll kill two birds with one stone. The trick however is to find items that you can buy at a low price and sell at a reasonable rate online. It helps if you're knowledgeable about the items you're selling.

So, while it's good to buy items cheaply and sell for more than you paid alongside maybe putting a creative spin on the item in an effort to sell, there's another good way to earn. As an example, look on eBay and see which items have a lot of bids. Also, check the price they're going for. Next, if those items are used for bikes, then it's a possibility that you might be able to get those items manufactured in bulk. So, the more parts you order, the cheaper each individual item will be. Then you can sell each item that you got cheap for a reasonable price.

Of course, there's always the possibility of selling items online that you already own and don't want anymore.

2) Get yourself a blog or write articles online

It should be said that this isn't a get rich quick scheme in the slightest. But it is a way to get a monthly cash flow without needing to do much to maintain it, once you're earning enough to request payment. Helium is a good website for this, as is Associated Content and Bukisa. On the blog front, there are numerous websites out there. Get a Google Adsense account and you're good to go.

There's another way to receive an influx of money for not doing much. Some websites offer a very small amount of money for each post you make on articles, blogs or forums. While the individual payments are small, they can add up and it's not hard to write a forum post.

Lastly, you could set-up your own website and use Google Adsense to generate revenue for yourself.

3) Ask friends, neighbours if they have work or look to see if there's any easy jobs going or there's community work available

This is an obvious one. But it's worth mentioning. It's often better to ask friends, family and neighbours if they have any work they need doing in return for a bit of money because you're a bit low. If they don't or aren't willing to pay any money, then nothing has been lost. Besides, if you have skills in decorating or anything else that might come in handy around the house, then you might as well try and use them while getting paid. A bonus is that people would normally prefer to ask someone to do a job for them rather than someone they don't know. Another good aspect is if someone doesn't have work for you, they may refer you to someone they know who does actually want some work doing.
