How to get rid of a virus on your computer

Created on: April 08, 2009

Recently I got a virus in my computer and I am having a lot of trouble removing it. I went to Bit Defender website and I even got a special tool designed to remove just that very virus.

So what's the problem here?

First of all, a few minutes after using that Bit Defender tool, I get a message from AVG telling me that Bit Defender Fun Love Removal is infected with the fun love. This only proves to me what I already knew about Bit Defender, it's worth not a single dollar, specially the free version of it.

Second thing, to remove a virus out of your computer forever it will take some time and effort.

AVG free is the best free anti virus for the computer. It will work almost as good as the pro version with one exception: It's not user friendly but if you are a computer expert there is no problem.

First step is to turn off your internet. When your internet is on, the anti virus main engine is more focused on the traffic that comes to your computer from outside than with the files already on the inside so it makes harder for it to use it's full potential to remove the infection.

The next thing you must do is to set the anti virus to slowly scan the entire computer, some anti virus come by default with an option that will not deep scan the computer and the most powerful and dangerous virus will almost always hide themselves very carefully.

The deep scan will search ALL your computer files, folder, system files, media files and even files that might not get infected like text files.

The deep scan is recommended doing only once each week.

Before you start the deep scan it's very important you to download the very latest virus database so the anti virus can detect the latest mutation of it.

It's useless to have the most expensive software for virus removal in the world if you do not have the latest virus profiles...

It's also important you to leave the computer alone while it's scanning. Sure, you can do some light tasks like listening to music or watching a video or making a Power Point presentation, but avoid playing games or making video edition or anything that demands too much from your computer.

While the computer is scanning you do not need to watch it or give the anti virus software any attention, you just need to leave it alone while it does it's job.

In the end when the programs finds the infection you just need to select the remove option and choose next and farewell to the infection.
