I will give you a shoulder to cry on,
A shoulder that's firm to your touch,
A friend you can love and rely on,
When everything's hurting too much.
I'll give you a heart that is willing,
To give you the strength that you need,
A friendship that's warm and fulfilling,
And one that is worthwhile to heed.
I shall wrap you in warm aspirations,
And light up your soul with my heart,
And teach you there's no limitations,
In friendship though we are apart.
I shall fold all my warmth round your being,
While giving the distance you crave,
Be the light when you find it hard seeing,
And help you to learn to be brave.
Though who will be there when I need them?
I wonder, just who it will be.
Or if I will listen or heed them,
A shoulder to cry on for me.
